India suffered a humiliating defeat at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Sunday as Australia won the tenth match by 87 runs.
Chasing a modest total of 253 runs, India lost opener Virender Sehwag early as he was dismissed for just 5 runs. Chasing the elusive hundredth ton for almost a year, Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar was run out for 14 runs. Tendulkar left the field agitated as he was obstructed by Brett Lee at the striker’s end.
The Indian middle-order soon began to collapse with the Indian captain MS Dhoni still batting on 6 runs.
Australian Innings :
India has managed to restrict Australia to a paltry score of 252 for the loss of nine wickets in the tenth One-Day International (ODI) match at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Sunday.
Shane Watson, Australia’s stand-in captain decided to bat first after winning the toss. Making a comeback in the Indian team, Praveen Kumar grabbed early wickets as Australia’s stand-in captain Shane Watson was his first victim after scoring just one run.
Kumar was the most successful Indian bowler with two wickets conceding only 37 runs. But David Warner looked at his best scoring at brisk pace. But he eventually feels to spinner Ravindra Jadeja for 68 runs.
